I wonder who is going to become the aircraft Design Authority & who will look after the engines? What is current fatigue life?

As yet there are a few VC10's around that could possibly become donors?

Nigel.

The problem these days is that there has to be someone who will take responsibility for the design - thats what killed Concorde, not enough old timers who know the ins & outs of the design, let alone servicing. Even material specifications can't just be changed willy nilly, they have to be proven to be approved equivalents. Electronics......where are you going to find 1960's stuff thats servicable.

If they put her on the US register in the experimental category then they won't need a design authority. Have a look at what this company is operating: http://www.atacusa.com/index.html
