Well, the fireworks are done and as the smoke drifts away down the harbour....
Happy New Year and may it bring you and yours all health and happiness.
And a bit of wealth if you can manage it
All the best for 2019, Paul

Thanks Paul, hope your New Year is filled with prosperity and happiness and that goes to everyone here.
I remember the very first time I stayed up to see in the New Year, my parents had gone out to a New Year Dinner Dance leaving me and the dog alone, I was about 14 at that time.
I sat watching the TV with Trafalgar Square jam packed with people and then the cameras went onto Big Ben......Then the first of twelve strikes started and after the last one we were into the New Year and I sat there thinking was that
it??!!
Apart from some jumping into the fountain I thought what a waste of time staying up and watching that!!
I had imagined something magical would happen but not some clowns dancing in the fountain!!
Oh well, here's to an early night!!
Regards
Nigel.

All The Best for 2019 to All.

Nigel, I share your disappointment.
"The bewitching hour" at any time of year also lost it's magic at an early stage.
