Now, what made you find that, Brian?
Are your roots in Birmingham?
Interesting time spent studying those, thanks for the link.
Ordinary people doing ordinary things, that's what life is made of.

Makes the Glasgow I grew up in during the 60's look prosperous and fancy. :hide:

Before my time, but fascinating none the less. Still a few things to be seen in those photos that were still around in the UK in the 1980s; some of the cars, pavements made of paving slabs that aren't all broken up or partially replaced by tarmac, a few older-style shop facades...

Nice looking at those photographs Brian, if only for the old classic cars, and that price list outside the cafe. mind you, those guys cooking that big roast outside never saw that happen in Nottingham.

Remember when I lived in Nottingham of the old terraced houses that filled the streets and of the women kneeling down and scrubbing the doorstep complete with Hilda Ogden rollers and hair net!

Regards
Nigel.

2/6d for pie and chips? That's 25p............... :)

I got me and the wife a treat last night, a chippy run. First time in years. Large cod with peas twice, and one potion of chips between us.
The fish was cooked to order and was absolutely delicious. There was too much for us to eat so the two dogs got fed with the rest of it.
Cost? £12.10p. :)

Then there would be no guessing that you would not want to try this!
