A non-racist, non-sexist affair

Three people of no particular sex or nationality were in an aeroplane.
The engine stopped, and to their consternation, they found just one parachute on board.
They passed the pack between them, searching for a solution.
Then Bertram said: "I'm a polite gentleman, you go first!", and pushed the other two out of the door.
Patrick said to Hamish: "Hold my hand tightly and count to ten."
Hamish asked :"How is that supposed to help us?"
Patrick: "I thought he'd try to trick us, so I took the rip cord from the parachute. When we get to ten, I'll pull it."

You refer to them as Bertram, Hamish and Patrick. This implies it's an Englishman-Scotsman-Irishman joke, and therefore carries inappropriate nationalist connotations. You also refer to each one as 'he' thereby making assumptions concerning gender and adversely impacting their human rights to be Mr/Mrs/Miss ( delete as appropriate ).

Mike the names you use clearly imply white macho heterosexual males. This is completely unacceptable today. They should be of mixed race and gender and at least one should be LGBT.Oh, and one should have a disability.
