Rain And Snow Splattering Pattern Of Trident

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Since Trident does not have engines below wings, I am wondering what rain and snow splattering pattern off Trident is like during taxi, take off, and landing. I do not see videos or photos showing that so I am hoping anybody would remember rain or snow splattering pattern off Trident.

Thanks,

Aharon

About half way through the video you'll see a somewhat wet takeoff. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks FlyTexas,

Going to be tough to recreate that in screenshots. Need photos or videos LOL

Awesome and will definitely help me to create more realistic screenshots of Trident in future!

Thanks, Toby

Don't forget, that the nose gear is offset to the left by design. This will affect spray patterns differently to each side of the aircraft.

Hi Aharon

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause confusion.
The Trident is the only airliner that I know of where the nose gear extends/retracts across the fuselage of the aircraft (I'm sure that some 'cleverclogs' will list another, but I'm not aware of any). All other airliners, the nose gear retracts in a fore/aft direction.
By design, for the Trident this results in the nose gear being offset to the left (or more correctly the 'port side') of the fuselage centreline. I believe this was done to shorten the fuselage and thus reduce weight.
It's probably easier to understand from a photo than my description -

This will obviously effect spray patterns (crosswind effects will influence this).

WOW WOW :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O :-O

I did NOT even know that!!! Thanks for clearing up the explanation. Now I understand what you mean!! I thought you were talking about front landing gear bay doors. LOL LOL

That is interesting!!!!! Got to study effects of that front landing gear splattering in order to create realistic screenshot!

Aharon
