Doesn't always happen - but I've found a photo of the Airspeed Courier panel.
Image
This is by Smiths Instruments adverising their part in the new Courier aircraft. All are easily recognised apart from one
which has me stumpted. I've arrowed in red what appears to be a strange switch directly below the mags switch.
Any suggestions to its purpose would be welcomed.
Cheers

Hmm. Being that the 'on' and 'off' text seems to encompass the mags and this mystery switch it's gotta be something electrical. I wonder if it's a master power switch? Or lights perhaps? :dunno:

Really difficult to see the detail in that shot (found the same one but it's no sharper). I'm wondering if it's ganged to the battery *-)

Trembler coil? Or an inertia starter trigger?

Just done a very quick look at the Avro Tutor cockpit....it has two separate switches, one labelled start, t'other says run.
Anson pilots notes quotes booster coil as well as mag switches. More research required!

Thanks for the thoughts so far... No lights fitted so thats out - hmm - master battery ? high power trembler/ mag ? .
If there's no definitive answer forthcoming then it'll be down to me to dream up a suitable use for it safe in the knowledge
that none can contradict me. :agree: BTW the undercarriage retraction was worked by a hand pumped hydraulic system.
