Classic British Flight Sim

Well, I finally found the password for my piggy bank and plunged.

Didn't have much choice really after a major catastrophe.

New gear is: -

ASUS PRIME Z270-A
Intel Core i5-7600
NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1070
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
HyperX FURY Black

Only put FSX back at the moment , but I'm impressed.

Only drawback so far is the sound is like someone breaking wing with metronome like regularity. The aircraft staggers each time. Using on board sound, but when I looked at the bios, I dived out again sharpish.

How many gig on your 1070?
Was thinking of an upgrade with that same card.
Do you get a big FPS increase or is FSX still the bottle kneck?

8GB GDDR5.

I never worry about FPS - All I look for is smoothness, and with this set up - no stutters so far.

Still in the process of getting everything back on board and not yet got round to reloading P3D.

My FSX set up is FSX with Acceleration, Orbx England, Scotland and Wales + Orbx Trees, UK2000 VFR Airfields Vols 1,2 & 3 V2 with Extreme Heathrow, Manchester, Humberside, Leeds Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Not had time for much flying yet, but so far not a single hesitation once I got the sound sorted out.

Just a thought.

You are aware of course that with FSX it is more the CPU that bottlenecks the FPS more than the Graphics card?
