Dovetail Games Retires Flight School

I just saw an announcement on flightsim.com that the dovetail flight school has been "retired". They did not say what comes next but did say:
We will have more announcements about our upcoming sim in the following weeks as well as something special for existing Flight School owners to thank you for your continuous support and feedback.
I wonder if this means the long delayed 'Dovetail Flight Simulator' is about to be released, I figured with the lack of news on the subject that they had given up.

Drat that's $5.00 I'll never see again.

You'll still be able to play it but there'll be no further updates or new sales

Obviously this hasn't been the success that they'd hoped for.
I'm also concerned about Dovetail Flight Simulator. This is now several months behind schedule. I hope they haven't thrown in the towel!

According to the release quoted above, there will be news on the full sim in the coming weeks.
Based on what I've read elsewhere, they haven't given up on the full sim, but Train Sim World difficulties held them up because they had to get some resources off FlightSim over to help on the final push for release (which by all accounts was mixed in a bad way) and fixing the issues post-release that caused a lot of consternation among users.
As well, it seems the retirement of Flight School is because they fell into the same hole as Microsoft did with Flight! - they focused on new users while ignoring the concerns of veteran users and it resulted in poor sales because those "new" users quickly got bored with it since there was nowhere to go after they "learned" what to do and the "veteran" users had nothing to do from the start, so the market they thought existed didn't. They needed to release Flight School *WITH* the full sim so that the "new" users had somewhere to progress to once they got comfortable with the program, which may or may not be after flying all the "lessons".
