Hi Chaps :)

Does anyone here use UTX Europe with GenX?

What I'm looking for is a better look for Europe without compromising my GenX England/Wales and Scotflight3/GenX Scotland :cpu:

Works fine together for me. The photoscenery just takes precedence wherever it is loaded and when you fly across the boundary to UTX, the normal vector scenery takes over. You can leave them both enabled or alternatively just enable/disable whichever you are going to fly over.

VM thanks for that Gerard

As it happens, I may have talked myself out of UTX Europe.. at least for the time being. Other than the UK, I've recently started exploring Norway having bought Aerosoft Stavanger and Bergen over the past few months. Last year (maybe last Christmas).. I bought FSGenesis Norway mesh and never got around to installing it until recently and that made an immediate impression  However.. there remained one big pain in the butt.. the default coastlines. GenX has obliterated the default coastlines in the UK for years and I'd forgotten just how bad they were until my Norwegian escapes 8)

An interim solution has been found at the FS Norway website. Not only do they have a huge selection of Norwegian airports (many with photo tiles) but they've just about everything you'd want to pull the entire country out of the default including NSX2 (NSX2v3 too) which takes care of landclass and coastlines. It has no English readme which is unfortunate (NSX2) and I'm sure I could tweak it to get it to how they want it seen but thus far.. Norway with NSX2 is a lot more pleasing to the eye. I'll download all their files when I have time to do so (a few are over a gig).

Of course.. this doesn't solve how the rest of Europe looks so UTX Europe may end up in my shopping basket at some point ;)

Hiya mate :hello:
I use UTX Europe but not Gen X although I have no problems with other photo scenery I have installed
The coastline is much improved from the default along with the roads. I guess it would be quite possible to navigate using the motorways (although not tried it)
What I do like is the street lighting effect. Vastly improved in the recent upgrade its very customisable in so much as the light type, sodium, mercury etc for the various road types, size of light pool and general lamp spacing are all alterable. Obvious frame hits if you get too carried away but at a sensible setting it adds a nice ambiance

Cheers Dale

The FSNorway scenery isn't without it's problems though ironically.. they've made it compatible with UTX Europe :-O Having spent a day reading the UTX forums.. it seems that the data they use for Norway.. while better than the default.. isn't up to the rest of Europe. There's even a noticeable change when crossing the border from Sweden :-O We'll see. It does seem to be a fair 'all in one' fix for Europe. I remember being impressed with UTX Canada/Alaska for FS9 and I've no reason to believe that Europe2 isn't to the same standard ;)
