Just Flight HS748 Advice Needed.
Posted: 04 Jan 2017, 14:58
As you know I purchased the Just Flight 748 and came across a problem with the handling characteristics, basically flying at 160kts with a payload of 40553lbs. the aircraft was assuming a nose up attitude to remain in level flight. Please see link below.

With no replies to my question I put in a request for help. See below:
Recently purchased this aircraft but one thing I am finding weird and not right is the aircrafts' angle of attack. Gross Weight 40553lbs. ASI 160kts. The aircraft even at this speed and weight should be more or less in level flight. I have flown a freeware version previously at the same weight but never had this before. Equally from the pilots' viewpoint I am unable to obtain a clear view ahead due to the angle of attack, I am sure that the aircraft should not behave like this given the speed and weight and would be extremely grateful for any help or advice. Please view screenshots. http://forum.justflight.com/forum_posts ... -not-right Regards Nigel.

Hi Nigel,
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking
You are flying the aircraft and can control the angle either manually or with trim and throttle
You can also move your view up in the cockpit to see out the windscreen if you need to
You can't make any sensible comparison with a freeware version made by someone else. Flight model design is a complicated process and many freeware aircraft will just use a mildly-tweaked version from a default aircraft

Hi Martin
Many thanks for your reply however, I do not think that I have explained the problem clearly. When flying at 160kts the aircraft has to be trimmed for that speed and as you can see from the screen shots in my previous e-mail that the aircraft has taken on a nose up attitude and wondering whether this may be due to C of G settings for this model as there is only one payload setting available in the menu. Equally, to maintain level flight I have re-trimmed the aircraft and as a result still get a nose up attitude. Please view another post by snave and he also refers to the trim and A O A listed as 5.

You had written that one cannot make any sensible comparison with a freeware version made by someone else. The HS 748 'freeware version' is in fact Rick Pipers' which I am sure that you are aware of and I would also state that the flight dynamics are as close as can be to that of the real aircraft.
I hope that I have explained the above more to your understanding.
Kind regards
Presently awaiting a response though flew Ricks HS748 at the same speed and weight and found that it was flying level, can anyone advise me on this?
Regards
Nigel.
