Can the JF HS748 be considered superior in any way to Rick's 748 updated to FSX standards?

No idea mate as I'm never likely to buy it

It's new and it's FSX native so all the little niggles porting Rick's model over will be gone. This said, you're likely to be getting new niggles with this release so ultimately.. the choice is yours

I shall await the reviews that must eventually arrive. From recent comments on the forum I am doubtful about buying anything from that source.

For me this almost comes too soon after the BAC 1-11, which I'm still getting to grips with due to a lack of flying hours lately. Also, there is no introductory offer besides extra points (unless something pops up for Black Friday!), so I'm likely to hold off for now.

We have been spoilt by Rick's 748/Andover. Looking at the youtube videos on the Just Flight offering, the cockpit is only average and I cannot remember a 748 sounding like that, I think they have taken the sound package from the F27.
There should be a much more pronounced whine from the Darts during idle and taxi.
No sale!

Would it not be possible to use Ricks' sounds for the Just Flight Model instead?
Had a look but still unsure!
Regards
Nigel.

Unless things have changed at Just Flight they use FSSound Studio so it can be a straight swop. Then there is the issue of the prop sound going through the beta range as modelled by Fraser. Don't think that would work.

The screenshots of this new HS748 look very nice indeed, but as with other aircraft I've bought, it probably wouldn't get used much before going to the bone yard. Aerosoft's Twotter is enough twin turboprop for my needs, but I hope the 748 is a success for JF.
