Virtual Cockpit Eyepoint

Hello Chaps.
I'm mostly a Virtual Cockpit and pop up 2D panel flyer.
I find most default VC eypoints to be useless and am sick of moving them about to a good spot each flight. Is there a way to save a VC eyepoint so it's where I want it each time?
Thanks
Paul

There is but I can't remember which line in the cfg it's on. Let me ponder while someone who knows the line jumps in

Cheers Dave

I just found the thread at SoH where Ed explained it to me..
Here's the formula. It's easily done and you can make adjustments (especially to raise your eyepoint which are not reset if you change views and then come back to the VC) to your view up or down, fwd or backward, left or right.
Changing the eyepoint in Aircraft config:
First number moves the eyepoint fwd or backward. (higher numbers fwd)
second number moves the eyepoint left or right of center (higher numbers right)
third number moves the eyepoint up or down (higher numbers move up)

When you say 'higher' that means value is positive relative to the model datum point for fwd/aft. Positive lateral = to the Right; Positive vertical = up, again relative to the model datum.
Negative values of course the reverse direction.

I didn't say anything Keith. That's a direct cut'n'paste of Ed's reply to me at SoH
Anyway.. Paul hasn't come back. I hope we've not frightened him

Thanks- I'll have a go when I'm next in front of the PC....
and report back-if I survive.

Fear not.. it
does work

Make a copy of your eyepoint entry for reference and // it out then work on your other one until you're happy
I'm glad you asked the question as it's given me an opportunity to add it here. At least I don't have far to look now

I'm glad he posted the question. The formula goes into my repository of useful tweaks. Ta muchly.

If it is any help I found some of the views slightly out from the Capts position on some aircraft so altered them and also added/changed some of the co-pilot positions.
Aircraft are:
BAC1-11 Co-pilots position for fixed view
Trident - Co-Pilots Position for fixed view
Carenado Senecca - improved position for P1 as it was too low for fixed view unless you corrected eye-point view manually
HS748 Co-pilot fixed view
JF Devon Co-pilot position placed more centrally to the seat and front windshield.
Think there may be one or two more but don't have the settings with me as presently in the library but will post them up here tomorrow should anyone be interested. Don't know whether or not the settings may be different in the case of wide screen monitors say 22" compared to 17" but I would have thought they will remain the same regardless unless Dave can advise.
Although I have and use Track IR when flying I don't like the fact that my head sometimes pops out of the cockpit roof if I shuffle in my seat so always fly so that there is no up or down movement in the cockpit, that is when I really noticed some of the fixed views were slightly out, I think it is more personal preference as to the positions but one very good example of that is with Manfred Jahn and crew's C-47, both pilots positions are bang on!
Regards
Nigel.
