Confusion Over Gimmick Of New Drives

I look at the drives of my new MSI laptop and saw two drives: OS install C: 189 GB free of 237 GB and data D: 913 GB free of 913 GB. I assume that drive C is SSD drive and drive D is 7,200 rpm drive.
Where am I supposed to install FSX into?? Can I install FSX into drive D that is labeled data? I know that FSX is going to take about 100 to 150 GB and I do not want to put FSX into drive C: that has OS Install and only 189 GB free.
Does your laptop or computer show same arrangement of two drives?
I do not know why MSI puts program files, program files x86 and windows into SSD drive that has only 237 GB instead of drive D which has 913 GB.
Thanks,
Aharon

The Airspeed Estate is a laptop free area, so I can't help you
directly, Aharon.
But, my
PC has all the system files on C:, a 223Gb mechanical drive, and all my FS stuff, pictures and documents on the 931Gb SSD.
It runs fine, so I'm not complaining.

You'll probably find its just one hard drive partitioned into two.
Install FSX onto the "D" drive.
The same thing happened with my daughters laptop. She installed her programs and kept the default locations (program files on the C drive) which quickly filled up. Along comes an update, cannot install - not enough free space despite having 700-odd gig free on the other drive.

I concur with Dave the drive is in all probability partitioned. Not a bad thing. Install FSX away from Windows on D (a very good thing).

I certainly hope that the SDD drive C: with 189 GB free is enough for next 5 years of updates!!

Many larger laptops have slots for two drives. I have a 17" alienware and it came with a 240gb SSD and a 750GB 7200rpm. I have since replaced the 750GB drive with a 2TB drive that spins at 5400 rpm. I have my sims installed on the larger disks where they have space for all those big scenery files.
It would be really strange for them to partition a disk with 237 gb and 912 gb. Normally they may setup a 2-8 gb 'recovery' drive in a separate partition but not more than that. I have had several 14"-15" laptops from work or my own and they usually only have one disk in them.

Agreeing with Blanston12's commentary. If the SSD drive has 500 GB, then I would have no problem seeing manufactuer putting Windows OS into that SSD drive but for the manufacturer to put Windows 10 OS into SSD drive with 240GB while ignoring SUPER ROOMY 7,200 rpm 1TB drive in my new laptop seems to be absurd to me considering the fact that crazy periodical updates from Windows and Norton for over next 5 years can by any chance exceed 240 GB!!!

Finished installing FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 into new laptop and did successful ground testing. Waiting to start my first flight (off course unfortuately offline since I have to test FSX first before venturing back into Vatsim where I had logged thousands of flight hours and millions of Vatsim events).
Also bought P3D V3.4 but am afraid to install!!!
ONE PROBLEM BUT I SOLVED IT. After installing FSX to D drive, I installed SP1 and SP2 which automatically went to drive C!!! But I solved the problem by copying files in C and pasting on D (first SP1 and then SP2).
