Hello all
Is anyone using ACG RAF Cranwell in FSX? I believe it's designed for FS9, with no guarantees for FSX SP1
Are there any issues?
thx

Hi Colin,
There's an FSX version at AVSIM (unsure if this is actally by ACG, and updated by the uploader)
Or, there's an official download of the ACG FSX at:
http://www.militaryaiworks.com/
I've registered with MAIW and they let me log in, but I get told that I have to be logged in and registered to download. Maybe it takes a few hours to recognise new members.

Hi Colin
Yes the ACG Cranwell works in FSX and P3D v3 and is very good. We lived there in the 50s and I remember it well. My father was in the RAF and we were able to go to the hanger where he worked. If I remember correctly the record breaking Hunter was in there together with a Meteor, piston Provost and a Vampire.
Also just before we left I remember going to a museum that was there, which housed the German aircraft that I think are now in the RAF Museum.
Sorry to ramble but it was a great place to be in my early days.
Regards
John

Hi John,
Did you have to disable default RAF Cranwell?
I added the ACG to the library, and it looks fine in the list, but it doesn't appear in selectable airports.
AFAIK, I have default mesh. I have the Horizon VFR airports for southern England, so maybe I'll uninstall ACG and try the other version.
Colin,
As mentioned above, the install allows 2 versions, depending on what mesh you have.

Hi Mike
I had to disable RAF Cranwell in VFR airfields via the UK2000 options menu. I'm sure I was able to select from the main airfields menu. Will check later when I'm on PC again.

John

The ACG scenery for FSX is excellent.
Once entered in the FSX scenery Library it can be selected directly using the code EGYD or the "city" = Cranwell. As well as the airfield one also has a model of the RAF College Cranwell complete with RAF Ensign and the College Heraldic Banner flying atop the College entrance.
Thoroughly recommended together with the rest of FSX ACG scenery.

Thanks John,
I'll do that.
When I said that it wasn't selectable from the list of airfields, I should have said "no specific ACG line"
Probably because it's clashing with UK2000, I was getting a message about unable to load Cranwell tower, and a couple of other bmps.
