Classic British Flight Sim

I am very new to Forums, though I have been involved with flight simming, both FS9 and FSX, for 15 odd years. This is the first opportunity I have had to thank all the developers, producers, both freeware and payware for making available to me all those aircraft that I didn't fly during my 47 years as a (now retired) commercial pilot. The aircraft I remembered as a child, I am particularly fascinated by big round radials, are probably my favourites, though I have a very soft spot for many British commercial aircraft of the 50s, 60,s 70,s and 80s, the HS748 being another of my favourites. I was lucky enough during my career to fly the Shorts 330/360 and the J31, and enjoyed them all, though progress being what it is, I ended up on turbofans. Now thanks to you all, I can fly Spitfires, Hurricanes, Canberras, DC2, DC3, etc.
I am in awe of your talents and the precision that is now part of flight simming. Please keep up the great work and accept my heart-felt thanks to all involved.

Hi Catboat
Welcome again, this time from Downunder.
I read in the RAAF newspaper "Air Force", that they recently confirmed a Catalina wreck down here.
They want to leave it untouched, as the crew's remains are expected to be inside.
A plaque will be mounted on land honouring the lost airmen.
With a user name such as yours, I thought this may be of interest.\

Sadly.. you find us in our twilight years so the chances of anything new coming off the CBFS drawing boards is very slim. We keep the staff canteen open and you'll often find fellow retired pilots popping in for a cuppa and a sticky bun
