That looks very interesting. I'll await the jury's verdict, however. Thanks for the HU, Mark.

Yup.. but we on this side of the pond can't buy it from AH. I've been checking on the usual resellers sites all night and it's not up yet. It HAS been sent to them though so it's only a matter of time

Does that mean the Colonials have to buy it first and test it ? Sounds a good arrangement to me.

It does indeed
AH aren't set up to handle global tax which is why they only sell direct to the colonies. Remember the hassle when the F3F was released

After that.. they waited until it was ready at the re-sellers before releasing it on their own site but they've obviously lost the will. Looking at the Aztec thread at SoH.. that delightful and much sort after (yawn) model will only be released on Steam. TBH.. the Aztec could be released for lunar customers only and it wouldn't bother me but it's bothering some

I'd be disappointed if the Dove was Steam only but it certainly wouldn't be the end of the world. If they don't want my money.. that's fine by me

re. the Aztec, seems a strange thing to do, effectively cutting of many potential buyers, but I'm sure they have their reasons.
Not that I would have bought it anyway, they do seem to imply it's OK to download it into FSX:SE, then copy it across to FSX:MS or even P3d, but you would still need FSX:SE installed first, which can cause issues with other add-ons if you have both flavours of FSX installed. If that's the way AH are going, then they won't be getting any more sales from me.

Funny thing is their Facebook posts referenced both FSX and P3D and I saw screenshots that looked to be from within P3D, so I suspect this "exclusive" is probably similar to what ORBx did - "exclusive" for a time with Steam, then everywhere else. AH hasn't made any official statements yet and Dovetail's release didn't mention the 30 day exclusivity in their ORBx announcement either.

Well, they make a big thing about 'Specially developed texture techniques to simulate the different coverings used for the airframe and wooden cockpit interior.' The screenshots seem to show the wings and tail in silver - shame that in real life it is cream!!! Wont have to worry about doing any repaints - Miles only made three and they were originally painted cream overall. Would be nice if AH ever did their homework properly before releasing a model!
As far as the Aztec is concerned, forcing people to use the Steam edition to obtain it is in my view pathetic. Not that I want an Aztec anyway - I think it is quite possibly the ugliest twin Piper ever made, with that 'orrible flying plank of a wing! Now if they had made a decent Apache (the wing looks better on that!) I might be tempted - unless it was Steam powered.
Just glad JustFlight took the Dove off them, assuming it is ever released.

OK, I succumbed and bought the Speed 6! I think AH tried to do the cream wings etc but their 'Specially developed texture techniques to simulate the different coverings used for the airframe ' have managed to change the colour to appear silver. The black fuselage textures have also in my opinion been 'overdone' and need to be toned down a bit. The model itself is superb and I have no doubt it will be very popular.

I'm afraid I also commented direct to Baz as well as a small comment visible to all. He did acknowledge these comments in his replies over at SoH, but it seems no change.
One day I might update my version with details of a photoshoot my son did for me back in 2009!!!
