Classic British Flight Sim

I've been looking at a few of their planes for a while, waiting for the sales, and they've put some of their fleet on sale.

Any of you have their models? any complaints, any praise? What say you..

I bought the 172RG Cutlass. $13.77.

Sri I missed this before you added to basket. I have their Waco, AG Truck, Pawnee, Tomahawk and R66 Turbine. I can't vouch for the FD's of any of them but they're very well modelled. Lovely models even better in a sale

I was looking at their Cessna 207 Skywagon, but it's not included in the sale. I suppose I have to be cautious anyway, what with P3Dv3 compatibility concerns. I recommend their Waco YMF-5 - a reproduction open-cockpit biplane, but IFR equipped. Something a bit different.

Had to look up Cutlass, didn't know it was a fancy name for a C172.

It seems that unless you carefully watch the EGT, the u/c is liable to melt and trail in the wind....

my first choice of the bunch was the Cutlass, I've waited awhile for it. Never flown that particular type of Cessna, but i like the retractable gear engineering, the way it tucks it's legs. .. like a flamingo or egret. .. and of course the benefit of less drag when stowed. Would like to have had it given a GPS in it. But , like in real world it can be updated.

my second choice is the Saratoga, Paul .. but Alabeo held out on their price. ... maybe next time around. :thumbsup

Besides my money is better squandered on my trade tools, food and A/C!

Dave, I'm not sure about the FD, but I'm able to turn off the second taxiway at St. Barts without having to make a Uie

Glad you're happy with it Joe. None of the other GA types float my boat I'm afraid but it's nice to be happy with a purchase

Alabeo always advertise their models 'realistic' flight models but I wonder if they're not a bit too bland. Having bought the R66T some years back.. I read a review from one user who flies the type and he said it was rubbish I have to agree that the throttle needs very little movement before you're suddenly 400ft in the air

Alabeo's models are always well finished.. no doubting that

I was half tempted to go for the Cardinal, , but i have one in a fixed gear variety, i got free through AOPA some years back, so i already have one.

As to your comment about the level of detail in their work, I agree. The reflections of light on the panel , and elsewhere, it's very good, .. i flew in circles in the early morning light just to watch it roll across the panel ...... it's sublime?

The major issue most folk seem to have is the price hike.. creep would be a better word. Not that long ago, they were like Aircraft Factory.. a spin off of A2A. The difference is that while AF's pricing has been kept suitably below that of big brother A2A.. Alabeo are getting closer to their 'parent'.. Carenado and this is turning customers off.

While typing this.. I've just remembered I have their Pitts and Sukhoi too Only have the Staggerwing and R66T installed though
