Vissitudes only in that in my view, fixed wing carrier aviation far too quickly was abandoned both by the RN as well as my own country's RCN ... plus its all I could think of with the suitable alliterative quality of the subject.

Well played, Mike There's more room there than the shot suggests, but yes, it's a tight fit aboard the Vic. This photo (if you look on the far left) shows the Buccs ranged fwd of the island, and with what appears their rear fuselage over the edge:
