Silver I find very difficult, I usually end up with three layers of grey all different values going lighter at each stage. Each stage I also gaussian blurr (paint shop pro 7) so the edges of each layer blend a little. RGB values I am using for my DH90 are 215,217,229; 229,230,237; & 243,244,247. You then have to play with the alpha & even the glossiness in the Gmax textures of the model. You can't of course change the glossiness if you are creating a repaint.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
I regret to say that I use 'MS PAINT' for my repaints and I have never progressed to Paint Shop or any of the other more advanced repainting programs so any repainting I tackle has to be very, very simple!!

I have yet to try it (I have it loaded) but it would seem that GIMP2 has the blur facility & many other tools, & its free!

Yup.. many in the skinners world swear by GIMP. It would appear to be head and shoulders better than Paint and as Keith said.. the price is bang-on
