Classic British Flight Sim

Last Thursday I visited the Tangmere Museum, primarily to have contact with Pete Pitman, who as we know is not in a happy state at this moment, so I was escorted by Dave Coxon the curator instead. I was allowed to fly the Lightning simulator that is/was Peter's baby but also had a big input from DaveB in the local scenery creation. If I had known this I would have prepared myself for the local area as well as practising flying a Lightning - I have not flown one before....usually too fast for my taste. Luckily I was shepherded by an ex-Canberra pilot who was conversant with the software & area otherwise I could not have found the airfield!
In all a grand day out, so a big thank you to the volunteers at Tangmere, Pete Pitman, DaveB & the Lightning model creator (unknown to me at the moment), as I managed a touch & Go & an acceptable landing without crashing, the approach speed being my normal flat out level speed!

Well.. I never expected that It's ironic that having put that scenery together.. I couldn't run it without FSX going into OOM mode which really pee'd me off as I could have added more!! I must get down to Tangmere one day.. not only to see the scenery running well but to meet up with Pete I'm glad you enjoyed it even for a fleeting moment

No.. it was the Portsmouth scenery I built up in this thread.. http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/cbfs_bb/viewtop ... =1&t=24989. I'm not sure if I gave him Southampton too. Everything was going so well when suddenly.. I'd gone too far I used the signs for something else

No, you didn't, Dave but as I'm Pompey born and bred you couldn't really expect me to have anything do to with anything even remotely connected to Southampton, now could you?
