Hi All,

Bugger me i move to Devon from Kent and miss all the excitement!!!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29823148

I don't know about this particular AN -26 but when i lived near Rochester Kent i often heard and saw these cargo planes droning away,

They do go over board though and saying the RAF has apologized for the sonic boom, well what would have they said if the jets just took it easy and something had been up, who would have taken the can!!!!!

Roger.

What amuses me is the over-dramatising of the story when it made the main BBC news page.

Prior to that the story, on the local news page, was much more restrained, factual and informative. Why do they have to continually resort to senstionalism?

The Typhoons scrambled were specifically given permission to go supersonic for the interception.

Of course, Latvia is a member of NATO

We had a couple of F-16's over Valmiera on Wed. I saw the remains of the Russian trail having turned it back. :hide:

In Helsinki I saw a pair of F-16 land and take off twice in the last week.

I don't know if these aircraft are the same ones and if they are the two based in Estonia.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Riga airport and there was a KC-135R parked up.
