Classic British Flight Sim

Here's a nifty bit of footage some chap shot of my fair city using a drone. The malt shop featured toward the beginning is a few block from my house; the dog loves to make the walk there for the treats.

They don't mention it, but the video starts out at the state capitol. That's real gold leaf on the domes and what-not, it's quite a thing to see when they have to reapply it.

I enjoyed that video and it had me wondering about flying one...They say it is very easy but with a good camera like that one has I expect it is pretty expensive

...Talking about my watch...I worked out the exact direction to point my watch on the window sil each night so that it is exactly looking at the Frankfurt mast DCF77 and I have marked a line in the box that it stands on...My watch now updates at 0200 each morning with the "High, Medium and Low" Signal Strength indicator on High... and Yes I did allow for MAGVAR

I must look up the price of that kit he used for the video

No mountains, which gives me an excuse to head to Colorado for a holiday. Being a runnist and a cycler, I can confirm the terrain is much less flat around here than it looks.

It is most peculiar, and this is not the first time it's happened, but I immediately suffered considerable nausea on watching the start of it . Same thing happens with some of those videos of low level runs through Welsh mountains etc

I call that problem "Vertigo" Chris...I first got it watching Steve Macqueen's car chase in "Bullitt"...The chase was downhill in San Francisco and the vertigo occurred on the crossings as the car first rounded out to level for the crossing then plunged nose down again onto the hill, usually with a short spell airborne...It was the Cinema big screen so I think that made it worse

Yes, Peter, I think it is a vertigo problem possibly as a result of lack of peripheral vision in films. It's odd to me because I never got sick when flying ( admittedly fairly gentle i.e. about +4.5 -2 G ) aerobatics years ago, but there of course one anticipates what is likely to happen with any given control input and so the senses are not taken by surprise in quite the same way
