Don't know if anyone has seen this French site yet?
http://www.rikoooo.com/en/
They have an awful lot of aircraft model downloads ( Comet, 111, Hunter, Auster to name but a few ) for which I’m sure they have not sought permission!
They certainly didn't ask me if they could use mine.
Lot of work gone into it though, even their Facebook page is covered in photos lifted from elsewhere!
Just after the money, I’m sure they could find easier ways!

Hi Rob
No.. I've not come across that before and I feel certain that DM would not have given permission for them to use his stuff either.

Tks for the HU

Well at least they credit Dave with the models and have a link to his website next to the download button - most crooks don't.

Credit where it's due John
If my memory serves correct.. DM's site is hosted by Simviation and as a matter of common courtesy, he would not allow his models to be uploaded anywhere else. This included Britsim by the way and probably even here too.. I think we have links to his site rather than the models themselves. I don't know if this is still the case mind you or if my memory of it is accurate but there was an inherent reason why DM wouldn't allow his work to go anywhere other than his site and it wasn't him being bloody minded.. not that he ever is of course

The site is giving credit to most of the original owners of the files but the files are being hosted and used without permission on a commercial website.

Indeed Rob.. the models should not be uploaded and hosted by anyone without the authors permission. DM's readme is very clear in what you CAN do.. quote 'You may upload repaints of this model to any internet site that makes it available free of charge, as long as David Maltby is credited for the original model.' unquote. Nowhere does it mention the model itself (other than DM's ownership of it) so whichever way the readme is read.. if it's not in the 'CAN DO'.. it must therefore be in the 'CANNOT DO'. As you can see, we've already had an enquiry about the 1-11 uploaded there

I wasn't trying to justify them in any way, of course. Just trying to look for a positive

It's theft...there is no positive

There's also very little can be done about it, in real terms.
Hence the vain search for something positive

Have you ever tried to d/l anything from Rikoo as a non subscriber? Waste of time Simviation slow as it is, is still quicker. Moreover much of their stuff is still in pre updated form. I'm wondering of they are the new FSPlanet, remember them?
