UK Ano files loss of smoke FS9

For an unknown reason my chimneys and cooling towers in UK Anos 1 & 2 have ceased to emit smoke and steam. One can see transparent rectangles rising from the chimneys and towers but the white smoke and steam have completely disappeared.
Uninstalling and re-installing has not solved this problem - the clean air act still persists.
Has any forum member a constructive solution to correct this problem?

Outside the usual suspects, no mate. Have you added or changed anything that might have overwritten the effects files or perhaps updated a graphics driver or changed a graphics setting? They shouldn't be there one minute and gone the next.. never to return

Hi Dave, Yes, I updated my graphics driver the other day and may inadvertently added some effects which overwrote my default fx!
Best wishes, James

Hi James
I don't know if clearing out your old shaders will help. DG says it's good policy to delete the old set every time your driver is updated.

You'll find them in..
C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FS9\Shaders
Now.. I'm presuming this is where they'll be for FS9.. this is the location for FSX. I don't have FS9 on the Win7 machine

What I did with mine for FSX was rename the original Shaders folder to ShadersOld.. just in case anything went wrong. FSX re-made a new set next time I opened it. I'm presuming FS9 will do the same
Sri I can't be clearer on this but it does sound like the driver update doesn't agree with the ANO1/2 effects.. in it's current state.
A quick edit: I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the latest drivers James.. just that they may have moved to a point beyond where the old effects will display. I see the same sometimes if I try and drag an old FS9 model into FSX.. usually with the props. Changing the prop can mostly get rid of the anomaly though the prop shadow often remains a square

Thanks Dave, have drawn a blank on FS9 with the shaders address given in your reply - searches give the answer "no items match your search."
Clean air prevails at present!
