I had a look on the Wilco site and their video of the Harrier looks great but does it handle as a Harrier should?

Is it worth the Money?

The picture of her just leaving the test ramp is nice.

Yeah.. the ramp is a 'hard deck' and fully usable I had no 'angle' on the nozzles and was able to take off perfectly with a comparatively short run-up

From my experience.. the Wilco Harrier GR3/FRS1 is heavy on frames.. perhaps more than it should be. Ben runs it ok and I'm sure DG does too but they have beefier CPU's than my 2500K. Paints for it are few and some are rubbish. The one above is ok and there's a 'winter camo' paint that's not bad. I binned a 'Yeovilton' paint today.. looked like candy-apple blue Probably the most difficult thing to model is a Harrier that behaves like a Harrier should and I don't think anyone has got it right. An alternative is the Razbam GR9/AV8. This is much easier on frames but the FD is more than a little interesting If the Wilco model was as easy on frames.. I'd probably like it more.. despite it's imperfections. Unless you're dead set on getting one.. my advice would be to wait until it appears in a sale and snap it up cheap. If it doesn't run well.. you won't feel so miffed. I bought it when I was using my E8400/3gig WinXP system and it was pretty much a no-go. It runs much better on the 2500K but it's still a hog.

It's ironic Roger.. just had a reminder from JF that their 'Boxed Sale' is about to end. I went and had a look for the Harrier and it's there but.. 'out of stock' The download version is still full price Don't worry mate.. I'm sure it'll appear 'on sale' again.. just a matter of time
