Fantasy Terrain Experience - At it again

Hi Folks

Having Windscale/Sellafield on our doorstep
was not the cause of 50 foot ferns, or trees on Lake-District fell tops in FTX-England.

FTX Scotland attempts one step further,
turning Shetland into an idyllic English landscape
with fields of rape, lush meadows, and beautiful oak woodlands.
Click for FTX pics. :wall:

Reality -
Lets play Spot-The-Tree, (Bing's Birds-Eye View)
There's a few fields worth, see if you can find them.

Hi guys , Orbyx's Compton Abbas would have to been busy to beat the real CA ..... 135 visiters today + lts of locals flying . And the strobe .. 1 flash every 2 secs.

Sumburgh LSI [ Lerwick Shetland Isles ] and The Shetlands look brill . The vertical shots almost show you the wreck of The Braer on Fitful Head , [ google it Jan '93 ] .

I operated in and out of Sumburgh for 4 years and enjoyed every minute , even the challenging bits .

The lighthouse on Sumburgh head is / was [ Feb '93 ] white all over . On a summer night stop [ daylight mostly , no darkness ] driving as far as Scatsa and Lerwick ; there are NO Trees.... so seeing them seems alien . The Orkney Isles are similar [ KOI , Kirkwall , Orkney Isles ] .

SOPs for rwy 33 and 15 , daylight only .. so a race and friendly row with ATC as to wot time sunset was and wot time we would land .... wasted pub time to go long way round to 09/27 , instrument and hours of darkness Rwy , and short to boot , so full brakes and max reverse , praying you don't do a Dan-Air Budgie [ 748 ] and rip over the concrete block sea defences and end up in the drink .

Rwy 33 approach , fly up the coast with [ white ] lighthouse on wingtip at 500' , aiming at a quarry , descending , then turn over Th Sumburgh House Hotel [ red light on roof ] at about 70' , rolling wings level and flare at about 20' .... great fun . 'specially with a tailwind pushing you towards the quarry .

Rwy 15 approach , from base leg rolling on to finals to a normal 3 ish degree approach angle , but you follow the contour of the hill 50' above the ground throughout the final approach to the flare .

Hope the link works for this Loganair 340 app to 33 in good wx .

When this 'pooter blows , guess I'll be able to get FSX and Orbyx .. 'til then fs 09 and XP ain't bust yet .

Barra didn't look like that when I landed there in December. Being ignorant of scenery design how to the fields and trees end up in what is basically a treeless environment?
