At least she's not being cut up. Does anyone know whats happening with that 146, G-BVRJ. I thought this was the one that QinetiQ had bought along with the RJ100, but it looks like its still on the civil register and hasn't been painted either *-)

Hi Ben :hello:

I've seen G-BVRJ a few times recently and seen it on radar almost daily

It is, perhaps, the most active member of the fleet.

QQ101 seems to be up most days flying in circles where as G-BVRJ goes places.

Maybe it will stay on the civil register until some mod work make it necessary for an military id?? :dunno:

But, for sure, she's alive and well.

This was the last flying BAC 1-11 aircraft in the UK when the aircraft was retired from operational flying in December 2012.
Are they kidding me? I had no idea they were still flying! Last one I saw was a British Caledonean one in RAFG about 1978!

Thanks for the links :)

Sad to see the last UK one go. At least she is being preserved though. I had so much fun working with her.

It's a shame I couldn't get down to Boscombe to see her go but I only picked up the message just before she departed. At least I heard her as she passed about 10 miles south of here. She'd been a very distinctive background sound for some years, on and off, and with the wind in the right direction you could hear her take off and reverse thrust when she landed. She never flew overhead though so I only saw her a couple of times when I was cycling in the Salisbury area.

Oh well, she's gone to a good home :)

Ian :)
