Problem with AI Traffic

Just hope some-one can come up with an answer to this.
Have Flight One AI Traffic for FS9 + FSX, quite an old one now I think however, when FSX starts to load after clicking the icon and before the main menu appears I get a message come up:-
There are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names
F1AI00 *AF *AF *00 click OK the the next one might be *JJ *JJ *00 etc.
SimObjects\UT Aircraft\Flight One AI 100.
After it has finished with that folder it then points to another folder and all I can do is keep clicking OK until all messages finish and the sim loads, go to an airport and the aircraft are there.
I uninstalled Flight One AI and re-installed it and made sure that all Flight One folders were deleted in FSX but still get the same problem and same messages. have looked at the Flight One Folder in SimObjects but there are no multiple Folders of the same name nor are there any multiple AI aircraft with the same code textures so don't know for the life of me where the problem lies!!

Could this be a problem in the FSX.cfg files? Any help greatly appreciated.
Regards
Nigel.

Nige..
I see Ian is up and he's au fait with AI Traffic. The warning you are getting is because there are multiple aircraft entries with the same titles and FSX doesn't like it much. For example.. if you have lets say.. a Trident of DM's with all it's liveries installed. If you then grab a copy and call it Trident AI without changing the title lines in the aircraft.cfg.. FSX will let you know. So.. you have to go through the cfg and change each title line to be something different from the original.. even if it only means adding AI on the end or at the beginning.
Dedicated AI models usually have a unique title line so there's no problem. Alternatively, folk use their FULL models for AI and again, there's no problem. It may be that this prog of yours has made a copy of the aircraft for AI but not changed the titles. I can't imagine this happening though. You've not fiddled and haven't told us have you?

If you've got a dedicated folder for AI, you need to edit every aircraft.cfg in the AI folder and prefix the repaint name with "AI_" and then update you traffic files to use the "AI_" other than the normal models otherwise (as DB says) you'll have duplicates for every one

Hi Dave
Many thanks for the quick response. I am not at all familiar with AI and all of it's settings so just leave it to the programme in this case Flight One. Never before have I had this problem I am sure that I went into the AI aircraft cfg and did not find any duplication of a/c and if there are any why would it double up on them?

Un-installed it again before coming to work and now just using FSX own AI.....Where the hell is that puking emoticon?

Nigel

Hi Ben
You just posted before me so only just read your reply so many thanks. OK, I think this is going to be a loooong job but why has this never occurred before with FSX as had installed it before without this problem then un-installed before re-installing again.
Many thanks
Nigel.

no idea mate, but as DB says, its cause where identical aircraft names are listed more than once in the folders that FSX searches for aircraft etc.

Thanks Ben, will have a look tomorrow (hopefully) when I have re-installed it.
Kind regards

Nige..
When you're uninstalling the prog.. is it ALL going.. not leaving anything behind? I wonder if it's left a dupe file in a folder somewhere and when you've reinstalled.. it's made another copy rather than overwriting or deleting the first

Clutching at strawers really as I've no first hand knowledge of what this prog is doing.

Hi Dave
Good point, I did however make sure that the folder in SimObjects had gone and also the folders in Application Data were deleted, the one where the FSX.cfg file is located. As said earlier I will install it again tomorrow but before that will do a complete search for any Flight One folders on the system and delete them, what about the registry? or is that pushing it?

Nigel.

It's a mystery to me, too

I've seen the message before but only for the reason that the other guys have said. Because I've duplicated an aircraft without changing the title name in the config file. But if it's finding that many duplications there must be a whole folder duplicated somewhere
It's nothing to do with the registry - FS simply reads the title line for each individual paint and identifies the aircraft from that.
Perhaps you could try entering one of the titles in the windows search box. Would that throw up the location or does that only work with files? I'm not on the PC at the moment so I can't try it.
Ian
