Back to Basics

I'm giving my Boeing fleet a well-deserved rest and dusting off some freeware favourites for my Sunday tootle. Here's one that I do take out occasionally but rarely fire off a screenshot. The airport is one of Don Grovestine's collection of freeware British Columbia fields, in this case Victoria International on Vancouver Island, hosting what looks like a Canadian air museum.

Don Grovestine is the creator of AI Flight Planner and Static Aircraft .mdl Maker. His airports can be installed in either FS9 or FSX and come with blending options for FTX PNW, Ultimate Terrain or UTX. He also provides local AI traffic to go with them. What a nice man :) http://stuff4fs.com/

Ah, good. You could probably answer a question I've been meaning to ask for months but keep forgetting

On my panel, I've got what looks like a very early version of a horizontal cup holder. Should there be anything in it? :worried:

It's probably a gauge from an FS9 default aircraft that didn't make it through to FSX or P3D...

Hello Mate :hello:

Yes.. it's a hole where the G-Meter should sit. It didn't like going to FSX very much so did a runner. DG did a quick fix for it by filling the hole with a G-Meter BMP. It should be here somewhere but I couldn't say where. I'll have a quick look and if I can't find it, I'll post mine :) It doesn't work as such but it's better than seeing the hole :)

EDIT: I found it here when I'd modded the link (it was for the old URL) :) The G-Meter DID work originally but SP2 made it poorly. The download link for the modded file works too ;)

If you have my Piston Provost try copying that over - that one seems to work in FS9 & FSX

Thanks, Keith. I had it in FS9 but not in FSX. I'm P3D now but I'll give it a try.
