Classic British Flight Sim

For those who have the 737 you may already have found the tweak on their site regarding the engine settings however if not I have copied one below, unfortunately there may be 2 others but cannot access them or download for some strange reason!!

The original engine settings were too high giving more power than they should giving climb out speed acceleration much too high, the tweak below will alter that though as previously said there may be some better settings to use, if so let me know what they are...pleeese!!

Change (decreased) the static_thrust settings for all of the 737's. These:
737-200 – 16000
737-200 ADV – 17400

Next ensure the TurbineEngineData is set to read as below (only a few changes in left column)

Hi Nigel.

I think I found the thread you're referring to in the Captain Sim forum (dated 15 Dec). There seem to be a few people coming up with suggested changes in response to their feeling that the aircraft is overpowered and there's another thread with several suggested changes to the FDE but there are too many responses for me to keep track of. None of them are official CS suggestions. I might try out the reduced power when I've got time but otherwise I'll wait and see if CS do a service pack. I'm quite happy with it. Are these the figures you wanted?

737-200 - 16000

Not sure how near these will be to actual performance figures of the 737-200 but will give them a try and wait to see if Capt Sim release updated figures.

I got the 737 pack when they did the sale and quickly altered the performance to the ones you have mentioned. Seems more sedate then before but I changed them quite quickly so don't have much to compare it to. Seems to fly nicely though.

Just spending the little flying time I have in getting used to the CWS method of autopilot operation. Seems very odd but it's the first aircraft with it that I've flown. The 757-200 has it but I never used it.

How does that rated_n2_rpm relate to real engine?

JT8D r/w Max n2 is 12,250-ish

Thanks Ian, just gave the 737-200 a quick flight take-off and climb as was busy this afternoon, much more realistic performance with the figures you posted

Just to cheer Ben up a bit, I have not yet bought FSUIPC as other things have taken priorty so my buttons on the throttle quadrant and joystick are not the same for FSX as FS9, after my very first take-off there is only one button selected for undercarriage up and down the other was for fuel!! Guess what!! one very damaged 737 on take-off!!
