Felts Field

Is this the perfect Sunday or what? The memsahib's the admin manager at the local Matalan so with the christmas shopping rush even the office staff have to help at weekends. She was away before I woke up and it's been a blissful morning. A calm peace over the whole house broken only by the growl of merlins, the crump of HE and the purr of cats. A bacon and egg sandwich, a read of the paper and a cafetiere of starbucks house blend. Could it possibly get any better?

Image A ping from the email client. Felts Field has been released! Oh perfect joy :)

Felts Field, Spokane is a GA airport but has a runway capable of handling 737s. But let's check out whether the taxiways and apron can handle it. Here are a few shots of my first tour of the facilities. Some GA flying after lunch to explore the town, I think

There are no people about in the winter, but they come out in the summer along with the butterflies. The flag moves gently with the breeze and the clock keeps time in 5 minute blocks. Nice touch.

Cheers me dears. The river runs along the other side of the field and there's a water runway with an approach over a dam, which you can see in the last shot. So I thought I'd take a Piper float up for a look at downtown and the freight yards.

Lovely stuff Ian. Not sure whether I'll get it myself, but I'd certainly like to see more pics of it, as and when.

Ok Ian,that's enough enjoyment.Time for you to get back to work and pay your taxes to keep us hard done by pensioners in the manner to which we are accustomed! :hide: EricT

Why, you cheeky monkey

I'm supposed to be a pensioner but I'm working full time to keep you skiving layabouts supplied with sherry and slippers!

And don't talk to me about tax! I'm paying basic rate tax on everything I earn (because my allowance goes on my pension) and if they make me work Sundays I have to pay higher rate tax on it! Needless to say, they don't have much luck with that  If they have to cancel trains due to lack of staff, you can all cycle to the pub!

Hellooooo :hello: Thought you might respond somehow!. I know what you mean re full tax on pay.I continued working with my employer (voluntarily) after retirement so,like you,my allowance was set against my pension.I also tried to avoid overtime.
Thinks *-) maybe with my baiting skills I should take up fishing! :) ATB EricT

Well my P3D is locked in Autumn at the moment for my scenery work at base...But this is how Felt's Field looked when I visited today:-

This is new scenery released by ORBX yesterday, and I took the Pawnee Brave there today. Here is a set of pictures to show off this new scenery...And the aeroplane!
