Bizarrely, I enjoy navigating as much, if not more than I do flying.

So, I've always wanted a panel which could be selected by one of the SHIFT + Number combination which would combine a radio stack, two HSI, default ones like the Cessna 152 or something 50's or 60's as most of my aircraft are that age. An ADF, ASI, Altimeter, clock basically, a navigators station. I've tried to do one before but just can't get it.

I've copied and pasted stuff in the panel .cfg before to get a radio stack in, but only when I've been able to borrow it from another aircraft.

What's the best way for me to go about this?

For most of my flying on the va I use INS navigation and I usually create a new window in the panel cfg (or mod an existing) to display the civa ins As you say, you can open it by say shift 8 and i then drag it to the touch display, which i have as a centre console The same window will have the radio and usually the autopilot, so all the important knobs and buttons are contained on the touch screen. No reason, space permiting that additional flight instruments could not be included

That's what I've do e with my INS but what I don't know how to do is place the instruments and size them so they all line up and look right.

FS Panel Studio (payware) is what you need for this sort of thing.

That looks interesting. Paul's idea of a nav station as an extra panel that can be called up by a keystroke combination sounds attractive. It would be very handy on my CS707 which doesn't even have access to the default GPS. It's quite labour intensive to fly without trying to get it in the right place!

Could the default GPS also be included in such a panel and does it seem like a straightforward project using FS Panel Studio? Could it be used across various aircraft?

FSPS is perfect for this. You can basically drag and drop any gauge into a panel, resize and arrange to suit. It has functions to align and make gauges the same size.
Any gauge can be added. Works with both 2d (including pop-ups) panels and vc panels that use 2d gauges. Will not work with vcs that use modelled gauges.

So panel studio it has to be then.. I'm not sure I'd ever use it again, but the Nav panel would probably make up for that!

It amazes me that noone has made one already really. There must be more odd people out there other than me!
