Hi Chaps,

As one of my GenX VFR DVD's has been hidden somewhere by Tiny Toes, I was just thinking, Can I simply restore the scenery directories from backup and add them manually to the scenery list? :dunno:

Of course you can.

Excellent! I wasn't sure if it added stuff to the FSX system folder or the registry. Thanks very much George, you've made me a very happy camper!

Yes it does make entries in the registry but they are not used ;)

The main problem is that the three volumes are split into separate area with separate textures, mesh and vectors so there are a lot of entries in the scenery library.

I (and many others) use a so-called "All-in-one" system where all of the bgls for England and Wales (2,240 of them)are in one scenery folder so there is only one entry in the library.

ps. I also have 117,000 agn files in the associated texture folder.

So is it simply a case of combining them all in a single scenery and texture folder? Does it affect any of the uk2000 stuff?

No, why should it?

Don't know, it been a long week and not thinking clearly. I've just restored the GenX stuff and put it all into one scenery area and it works fine, now restoring my FS9 and FSX folders, so that will take a few hours. Fingers crossed :cpu:

Well that was a disaster. It seems, for reasons best known to itself, that the backup I took of my FSX / FS9 pre the rebuild has excluded all CAB files :wall: and god knows what else. I'm thinking I'll start the FS9 / FSX again from scratch :|
