PC Specialist

Post by speedbird591 »

Does anybody have any experience of PC Specialist? I'm thinking of getting a custom build for my new laptop. For the price of an off-the-shelf machine I can specify my own components without having to compromise.

They seem to have several magazine awards and plenty of positive comments.

I had a PC off them early 2010.
They get a big thumbs up from me.

They sent an email on the 2nd anniversary of it being despatched, asking if I was still happy with it.
Ok it was also an advert for more stuff, but they've obviously got confidence in what they supply.

I have bought my last 3 PCs from PC Specialists (2 for me + 1 for swmbowq) and have had excellent service. In all cases they built up to my specifications and advised me if I was going 'overspec' and in danger of :welldone: spending too much on bells and whistles I didn't need. Build quality is good with cables neatly clipped and stowed for good ventilation.

Based on my experience I thoroughly recommend PC Specialist. I have no commercial interest in the company, I am just a very happy customer.

I had mine built by PCS and they were extremely helpful in suggesting better alternatives than some of those I had specified. Not necessarily more expensive, just better suited to the job.

It's three years old now, and maybe time to think of replacing it. When that day comes, I wont hesitate to go to them again.

Thank you for that feedback, gentlemen. That's recommendation enough for me. I like what I see on their website and it sounds as though their customer service matches their product. They seem like a company that deserves our custom.

Decision made! I'm buying from PCS and will probably spend a couple of hundred more than I'd planned

Now all I have to do is play the configuration game and build my new laptop

Thanks again

Ian :)

Thanks, Paul. Looks like I'm way behind the curve

I must be the only one here who hasn't got one - yet! :worried:

EDIT: Microsoft have just announced a late October release for Windows 8. As I'm no longer in search of a bargain, I don't need to take a W7 model and then upgrade later. It won't make any difference to the price from PCS so I'll wait now until W8 is available to save the hassle of upgrading.
