Some of you might want to have a go at this:

To celebrate 50 years of flight of the VC10 a raffle is to be held in aid of the RAF Benevolent Fund. The RAF Benevolent Fund provides a spectrum of care, supporting everyone from children growing up on RAF stations, to those serving today, to the veterans who fought for our freedom. Our aim is to raise £10,000. The prizes will commemorate former civil routes of the VC10.

The raffle prizes are flights to Barbados (plus 10 nights accommodation), Dubai (plus 7 nights accommodation) and Rome (plus 3 nights accommodation). The price of the tickets will be £1 each.

Details on how to get tickets are here: http://www.vc10.net/news.html#Raffle

Will you be at Brooklands for the VC10's 50th, or the day after?

Hello Mate..

Sadly, I doubt I'll be present on either day :( Hope the weather stays fine if you venture over ;)

Jelle - any chance of extending the benevolent fund to ageing civilian VC10 crew? I'm sure there'd be a lot of support :agree:

Oh, OK :( I'll go and have a look at your site anyway

I'd intended to go to Brooklands on Friday but as they've cancelled the fly past and the VC10 is reserved for fee-payers, I can't see the point.

Ian :)

I agree that it's a shame that there will not be a flypast, but I'll be going anyway ;) It would've been fun to meet up with you guys but I have a feeling that there will be more familiar names around that day, even though I don't know the faces that go with them... anyway, if you're there, I've found an old Brooklands badge with my name on it and will stick that on my person to help with the identification problem.

In the meantime here's a new bit of reading for you: http://www.vc10.net/Memories/Trialstribulations.html
There will be much more added to that page on a later day (when I can find more spare time) but I wanted to get part of it online before the anniversary at least. You can expect more stories and photos from test flights to Spain and South Africa.

We'll just have to meet up for a chat and a :guinn: some other day Dave and Ian!
