Ever since I went to Brooklands last summer ive really been getting into the BAC 1-11. But what I would really like to know is whats happened to ZE432 & XX105. I have seen a photo of 105 just left rotting away at Boscome Down and I heard that 432 had failed some corrosion tests. Plus was there any 111s based at Farnborough when it was an RAE base.

XX105 has been broken up and ZE432 is for the chop if not already :'(

OK :)

Latest I can find

ZE432, ZE433 permanently wfu at Boscombe and reatained as a spares source for ZH763, so perhaps in a years time all three will be gone.

Having said that, ZE433 has been moved to the scrapping area so perhaps it is now of no value.

XX105 was broken up in December 2011

I live close enough to Boscombe to hear when 763 is airborne which, until recently, was two or three times a week. But I haven't noticed her for a few weeks now. Hopefully it's just the weather that's keeping her grounded or maybe the wind's in the wrong direction :(

Ian :)

Thanks for the info Garry. :)

What's the bottom line then?

Just the one airworthy 1-11 left on these shores?

Sadly yes...just the one and not for long :worried:

Days or weeks rather than months :'( if it indeed is still active. :dunno:

But this sort of flying it subject to spurts as they fit something so nothing seen, then frequent as it gets tested.

It is conceivable that retirement could be postponed but unlikely unless the 146 goes mammaries vertical *-)

One thing for certain, treat any possible One-Eleven sightings...or VC 10 for that matter as a last opportunity, it may well be :worried:

Fair point Garry :(

I believe the VC-10s occasionally visit EGCC for a touch up at the air livery hangar.

Next time one comes in, if one ever does, then I'll be there.

Sad times... :'(
