At the "Wings Over Gillespie" air show.

The pilot -- who was the only one onboard -- was able to get out safely. No injuries were reported.
The airplane was not a total loss.

There's a static example at the Moorabbin museum, probably the prettiest killing machine that Fairey produced IMHO.

It's a signature I used in telegrams (remember them?) to the family back in Scotland...just em for Mike plus frat (short for the Latin word for 'brother'.)
I prefer steam as a motive force, although electrics are tolerable. No diesels, thanks.

Glad he was ok and she was not a total loss, it's always a refreshing change to see her fly in this part of the world.

That was only for the "R" (= removed) stream at our school; I only qualified for "A", next one down. Could've been worse, they proceeded down to "F" which I think meant that you had to be a good Fighter!
Like I said, they must give me too much time to think.
