This new video is a much better quality than the last and should definitely be viewed at 1080p and Full Screen.
The fish models are beautifully animated, with the more feathery of the two Lion Fish having the most animation features.

I reckon these fish models must be almost as difficult to make as Flight Sim aircraft models

That certainly is amazing, Peter. It reminds me of something I read a few years back, that it was screensavers and gaming that was driving computer technology forward. I guess that a very high percentage of the things that are done on PCs could be done with a very low power machine.
Have you got the free iPad app: Pocket Pond HD? It's in a similar vein and quite charming although the optional dragonflies get a bit annoying. However if you are quick enough to tap one and drop it in the pond a fish will eventually eat it.

Hi Ian...This one is Marine Aquarium 3 and it spreads itself across two monitors plus a chunk...Then the whole thing pans slowly to fully left and then to fully right. The fish can swim freely into any part of the whole tank except for a Starfish that remains on the gravel near the left end. The video only looks at my number 1 monitor so it doesn't see a big area to the left, which is my number 2 monitor. Bits of coral move and the Clams react defensively but only to certain fish. I think the whole thing is a masterpiece of programming and the fish are modelled very accurately to real species. I love watching that feathery Lion Fish...I got uncomfortably close to a real one just like that in Cyprus many years ago.
Thanks for the pointer to Pocket Pond HD...I have not seen it, so I'm off to the App Store now to get it

Years ago we had something similar at work with the Macs
Fish was one saver, Flying Toasters was another.
You could import extra fish supplied if you wanted crowd it out a bit
I found out you could also import the Flying Toasters.
I never forget the looks on some folks face when while enjoy the fish, a real novelty at the time, a Toaster would appear and fly across the screen
