Just wanted to ask if there was anychance of this repaint for the PSS Vulcan. Plus I have the the two seat Hawker Hunter package (As I have the Alphasim single seat) and when taxiing I have to push the throttle to near full. Is there anyway of solving this.

Hi Thomas,
You'll find the Alpha single seat has make believe wings. The real hunter never had squared off wings. You'll find Dave Garwoods Hunter package much more realistic and has been endorsed by our very own real world Hunter pilot, Peter McClelland. I'm not sure if anyone will still have the old PSS Vulcan paint kit
Are you flying in FSX or FS9?

Hi Tom
A repaint of XH554 is available at flightsim.com by UKMIL for the PSS Vulcan (look for ukmxh554.zip). It's probably on the UKMIL site too
The Hunter.. I'm not sure which twin-seat model you're talking about mate. You say you have the Alpha single-seat.. is the twin Alpha too or is it DG's? I can't imagine it's DG's as you don't need full throttle (or near to full throttle) to taxi

I know that when you've paid for something, you want to get your monies worth out of it but I'd consider Ben's comment and have a look at DG's freeware models. They're available for FS9 and FSX (both native models) and IMHO, are arguably better

I have seen that repaint of 554 but it isnt the colour of what shes in the link I attached. And yes it is DGs Hunter twin seat when I downloaded off Britsim it had that taxi problem so I will have to download and install from here.

Hi Tom,
Rgr on FS9
I've just loaded a twin-holer and at default (load) weight, moving the throttle very slowly forward.. it will start to move at 5790rpm (noting idle is 2440). You can give it a more firm handful to get the wheels rolling then throttle back to around 5690rpm where it will taxi very nicely with just a small increase in speed.. perfect for getting from the apron to the runway
If yours is requiring full or almost full throttle to taxi.. I'd suggest you may have a control stick problem. I know it's easy to fob someone off but none of the FS9 (or FSX for that matter) Hunters require more than a mere blip of the throttle to get moving. The FS9 model has been around for a long time now mate and were what you're seeing a regular feature, it would have been reported by now
Try starting the sim with a default aircraft (the Cessna will do) then move to the Hunter. Starting the sim with a default aircraft stops any manner of odd things happening
Re that Vulcan paint.. XH554, how does the UKMIL paint differ from that phot?? It's looks the same to me.. camo upper, white underside.. even the squadron marking on the fin is the same

Ok thank you for your help. The difference between the UKMIL repaint and the photo is if you look underneith the nose its black. And if you look at the top of the fin you will see it curves instead of rectangular.

Hi Tom..
Yes, I see

I don't know if the original 'curved fin' version is available in the PSS model.. been a very long time since I've flown it and a quick check shows it not currently loaded on this pc. If the PSS model
does have that fin.. just point the paint to that particular model. It won't solve the black radome paint but that shouldn't be too difficult to do. The UKMIL paint probably stems from either the early model wasn't available or he painted it at a later stage in it's life

The PSS Vulcan does include the curved fin version.
