Spinning the ICON A5...

This is a spin in the Icon of MS Flight...I had a lot of extra height as I had been up to a volcano caldera at over 13000 feet, so I decided to get rid of the surplus altitude to get onto my approach to land.

This is an HD video so click the resolution up to 1080p and then click the "Full Screen" icon at bottom right.

Thanks for looking :fly:

Hi Folks

Peter -
Nice vid.
Guess you're officially Dizzy ?

re: Viewer Count
Since your previous post/comment,
that's the second of your videos I've watched,
and in both cases, the count has not been incremented.

Would love to see your attack pilot's perspective
on one of these Gold Rush challenges.

That is interesting Paul,

Confirm that you watched the video to the end?

Um, haven't actually looked at Gold Rush challenges...I'm still play with Aerocaches. I'm very proud of myself for getting today's Caldera challenge in the Icon...You have to be very patient to get it high enough to get over the lip of the crater at about 13,600 feet!! If you try it then reduce your fuel to about 30% before take-off (I had full fuel).

Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Folks

Peter -
Both your recent videos
were watched to the end, and with no skipping.

re: Caldera
Icon takes a fair while to get up there.

Unlike previous FS versions,
FLIGHT is constantly forcing me to consider fuel management.

Set myself a rule that
all AeroCaches had to be flown airport to airport.

Not wishing to draw you to the darkside,
you could think of the Gold Rush challenges
as attempting to acquire 25 AeroCaches within 3 minutes.

Youtube side question -
If I understand correctly,
if you post a popular video to youtube,
you can earn a percentage of the advert revenue.

Below your video's watched & liked counts,
I was surprised to see a link stating - As Seen On FlightSim.Com

Link takes you to a youtube channel
obviously set up by FlightSim.Com
with a large collection of 3rd party's videos.

Who receives the advert revenue
if accessed through FlightSim.Com's channel ?

PS
I'm aware you'd posted a thread at FlightSim.Com.

Thank you for that :)

re: Caldera

Yes, a long, long time :)

Unlike previous FS versions,
FLIGHT is constantly forcing me to consider fuel management.

Set myself a rule that
all AeroCaches had to be flown airport to airport.

I flew that caldera from that airport that I landed at after the spin on return...but sometimes I start an aerocache from airborn over an airport.

Not wishing to draw you to the darkside,
you could think of the Gold Rush challenges
as attempting to acquire 25 AeroCaches within 3 minutes.

Sounds like that might be a bit much for me!...I'll look at it when I've done all the aerocaches...I also do a lot of free flying with nothing in mind but fun...Like my "Coasting" video

Youtube side question -
If I understand correctly,

I did monetise a lot of my videos but the Viewed Counts on my videos are far too low to reach the dizzy heights required for any actual financial return and the disadvantage is that your video gets plastered with adverts and some crank organisation puts in claims that you have infringed a music copyright...They did withdraw their claims immediately after I pointed out that there was NO music in my videos (stupid idiots!). I decided then that "Monetising" was a complete waste of time and a considerable inconvenience, so I "UNmonetised" all my videos and find them much nicer to watch without the adverts.

Below your video's watched & liked counts,

That link is very new (just a few days) and I have not clicked it yet.

Link takes you to a youtube channel
obviously set up by FlightSim.Com
with a large collection of 3rd party's videos.

You can license your videos to be used by someone else but with credits to yourself...I did that with two of mine but have not noticed any use. I have 69 videos up now and only those two are licensed that way.

Who receives the advert revenue
if accessed through FlightSim.Com's channel ?

Pass on that! I will click on that link and see what I can fathom out.

PS
I'm aware you'd posted a thread at FlightSim.Com.

I do not normally post at FlightSim.Com as such but I do post in the Dreamfleet section which is housed there. I do it to keep the Dreamfleet site alive as it is otherwise dead (Strangely I get much higher viewing figures to my posts there, than anywhere else!). However, the owner of FlightSim.com MOVED one of my spinning videos to the FlightSim.com/Microsoft Flight section. I was not asked and it aroused little interest...But I did post my latest spinning video there instead of in the Dreamfleet section

Thanks for your viewing and interest,
EDIT...I've just been to that website and watched one of my videos, but I don't think any of the videos on that site are Monetised, so I don't have any problem with that.

BTW...I have replied to each in the quote section above...my reply to each part is inserted below each part :)

Regards,
Peter.

Hi Folks

Cheers Peter.

Hadn't realised the submitter opted for monetized.

Never see any ads anyway
as all such servers are blocked in my hosts file. :)

Was browsing here yesterday, and started hearing voices. :worried:
Worried, checked all windows,
realised FLIGHT was minimized, and others had joined my session.

Here's the result - YouTube - Hangars of Death - MS Flight
Simon turned off his HUD whilst recording,
therefore you can't tell there's a 14kt x wind.

The commentary -
- Is disproportionately loud, was initial hardware issue at recording end.
- Out of context doesn't make much sense
- Surprised == Discussing FPS & fluidity.
- Crash 1 == 3 players joined session - Overlay popups swamp my controls.
- Crash 2 == Taxiing - On low graphics, water-filled ditch looks like tarmac.

They're my excuses, & I'm sticking to them. :$
