Dave Salty?
The only saltys we have here are saltwater crocodiles. By the time you yell "Look out for that big saltwater crocodile" the victim may already be lunch. "Salty!" cuts to the chase so to speak.
And they say "Never smile at a crocodile." Regardless, the only Daves I've come across on this forum are the finest, so I add my salutations, Dave, and a small maritime token to match your Title :RN: Happy Birthday!

Cheers Boys

The little Champ is sitting a couple of feet away showing only slight signs of it's harrowing first time in the air.. more to the point, showing slight signs of it's contact with the ground  The forecast for a lot of the UK isn't good today so I was up and out early with my flight team.. Alison with Poppy (spectators) and Helen.. general runner afterer (thank god she came.. the poor girl's knackered) Looking out of the window, you can't see anything blowing at all but out over the common, it was definitely marginal. As soon as the Champ got into the air above 4 or 5 feet.. the wind picked it up and it was off doing it's own thing  I did manage a few 'controlled' flights and a few gentle landings but by and large.. neither were 'pretty' :worried: Still.. all the Champ has to show for this abuse is a little paint off the nose under the prop and 'dig in' marks on the fuse caused by the gear springing into it ;) I'm guessing that ideal conditions for it are no wind at all.. certainly no more than a few knots. Pity I didn't push the issue and demand to fly last week which would have been perfect!! :(

Eddie.. have you ever flown yours with the gear off??

Not sure what's planned for the rest of the day. The girls asked if I wanted to go anywhere (Cosford was suggested) but thus far, I've declined. Might go and buy a pair of shoes.. my 'daily' pair are dropping off my feet

Thanks again for the good wishes ;)
