A Japanese fishing boat washed out to sea by the tsunami last March has been spotted off the west coast of Canada. :-O

It looks a bit battered and worn, but then so did I after a year at sea. Seriously, I am surprised its still afloat. Must be a very tight ship.

Hi Paul

Saw that, she's in need of a few mates to swab her deck!

Coincidentally there is a very large mass of debris headed to our west coast.

Yes indeed Joe, they say in that article that the main body of floating debris will start coming ashore on the west coast of North America about this time next year. Extraordinary !

I don't suppose you could nip up there and see if an iPad 3 washes ashore, could you ? I'd pay the normal salvage rates and postage. ;)

Not to sound macabre or anything, but I wonder who will have the rights to anything (like another ship) which may wash ashore. :dunno:

I would think normal salvage conditions *-)

The ownership would be with the insurance company

It seems that Canada still has maritime patrol aircraft?
