Argosy cockpit views

Morning all,
I love Rick Piper's Argosy [ and everything else he's done for that matter], but have a strange issue with the 2D cockpit views.I can't get a rear view when in the 2D cockpit. If I flick my joystick hat switch to the downward position I get the front Vc view. I also get a front view when doing the same in the default 2d 'six gauge' screen.
I've had a look in the panel .cfg but can't see anything I may have unwittingly altered.This is the only a/c I have this issue with- maybe I need to RTFM
Any ideas anybody ?
Regards.........Stuart

Hello Stuart
It's been a long time so I've dhad to go and have a look. What I'm seeing for rear view in 2D is a reduced 'landing' panel from the VC. Unlike some older models, the 2D 'pan' views are taken from the VC rather than being 2D shots in their own right. I was surprised to see the landing/taxi view.. I know that Fraser has left the rear view 'clear fwd' before now and that's what I expected
So.. it seems you're seeing what you should be seeing mate. Hope that doesn't detract from the rest of the model for you

Thanks Dave,
I've always been a 2D cockpit man myself, so I set about trying a fix for this, as I sometimes enjoy seeing the runway sliding away from underneath me on t/o.
Anyway, Ive found that I can get a rear view in 2D by altering the panel.cfg entries as below......
//VIEW_REAR_WINDOWS=29
//VIEW_REAR_ZOOM=0.800
//VIEW_REAR_DIR=11.000, 0.000, 0.000
i.e. using the old // method of omitting a particular entry, I suppose simply deleting those lines would have the same effect, but I always use this method in case I found I've cocked something else up !!

Hi Stuart
Yes.. I'm firmly stuck in 2D mode too as I find VC's a complete and utter pain in the proverbial
Glad you've got the old girl to roughly how you want it. Remming out lines is the safest way to do things and that's the way I'd have done it too

I agree with using //. Here's another suggestion: when you're going to modify a file, such as panel.cfg or aircraft.cfg, first make a copy. That's saved me a lot of grief when I'm tampering with the original.

The 2D cockpit is what is called the panel view
A panel bitmap with active dials unlike the 3D (VC) that is three dimensional

Well I don't think the developers have email -
this panel belongs to the old "Tivoli" hydropower plant near Munich, it was built around 1895...
