Not the worst idea I've heard, they did it with the USS Oriskany off the coast of Florida and HMS Scylla off Cornwall. Avoids the whole problem of trying to maintain a lump of metal floating in salt water...

She's not going to be preserved as a museum, so its better than being cut up on a beach out East, I reckon.

I think the lack of serviceable Sea Harriers doesn't help, and the Harriers are being shipped to the USMC even as we speak.

Recycle, I'm sick of hearing about all the stuff we humans dump into the sea.
But what's this I see on that link about wealthy citizens in a Communist country!?
I heard they are usually charged with misappropriation and corruption, then locked up while officials and ex business partners steal their ill-gotten gains.
