G-APIM Repaint

Can't find a pic that I can link to but G-APIM has been repainted
It is still in the 'Boeing' livery but now has the earlier British Air Ferries titles which it wore in service
When written off it had not long received 'British' titles, the last Viscount to adopt those titles and when reassembled at Brooklands it was repainted with the then current script British Air Ferries it never had in service.
Nice move as they were the neatest titles

Hello Mate..
She's not finished yet AFAIK. I didn't go to Brooklands last week but the week before, the boys were onboard PEP admiring the latest addition.. the Union Flag

Titles and most of the fuse is complete on the LH side and this time.. they're correct
Will take a few shots this Wed if you like

HI Dave
That would be great
Pics on VickerViscount.net show it complete apart from the nose to be finished but she does look smart
It would be nice to see the VC10 back in BUA livery

Hello Mate
Rgr that

Yes, I agree with the VC10 paint too. Can't see it ever happening though. As long as it remains in the Sultan's livery, the team are able to 'blag' support from him

Still.. her steps are painted up in BUA
BTW.. all new markings/titles on APIM are laser cut vinyl, much cheaper than getting a craftsman in to hand paint them

HI Dave
The VV Site did mention specially made decals and the result being very pleasing.
Certainly looks nice

Indeed mate
I don't want to speak ill of anyone in particular.. anyone at all but, the current Viscount team leader.. John Woodhouse.. is not only a very likeable bloke, he's also very thorough. The 'correct' livery was properly researched and decals made to match
for G-APIM, rather than a cursory look at the type followed by an assumption

He was painfully aware that PIM's last paint was wrong so this was the perfect opportunity to put it right
