Samsung SSD

Just fitted Samsung 470 SSD (64Gbt) to my pc ( i7 windows 7 64 bit). Device manager sees it as does the software from Samsung but it does not show up when I click on 'my computer'. The software from Samsung says 'no logical hard drives found' so it probably needs formatting, but I cannot see it in 'my computer' to do that!
Any ideas please?
Thanks guys,
Neville

Dunno if this will help Nev but in WinXP, such things are done via My Computer/Control Panel/Administrative Tools

In W7, use Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management. Then select Storage/Disk Management.
You should see all drives. Right-click on the SSD and select Format:
ENSURE THAT YOU SELECT THE CORRECT DRIVE.

Using Admin tools Format is not showing when I right click. It does not show up under volumes but does show as disk 1 in the lower part of the screen. Perhaps a drive letter needs to be defined in the bios? (A long shot)

This is wierd. All of sudden when I right click on the disk to change simple drive the wizard comes up to let me format.
Anyway it is working now so thanks to all who responded so quickly. Been hunting around the net all afternoon with no joy, go onto CBFS and hey presto an answer in 10 minutes!

Just a tip, only ever do a Quick format on a SSD, never do a full format

I agree about the defrag being a big no no. Similarly the tools you receive with the drive say you should only performance test the drive no more than once a day.
