Classic British Flight Sim

Hi,

As far as I know, BOAC existed just long enough to get a couple of 747-(100 or 200?) in their hangar, before it all went BA.
Now, I have been playing with the RFP 747-200 for a while now, and appearently there is no BOAC livery in any of the livery packages.
Have I overlooked something, or is there no BOAC livery at the moment?

There were famously 4 BOAC 747-136.. G-AWNA, B, C and D which wore the full Speedbird paint. TBH, I'm not sure what's available for the RFP model. I did 3 variations of the original for the POSKY release (1 of the 4 was already there) and I may have tinkered with the CLS 200. I don't have the RFP model I'm afraid.

The BOAC Boeing 747s were in full BOAC from very early 1970 (G-AWNA delivered 24 April 1970) until April 1974...so officially four years, (Perhaps a little earlier with BA titles as some aircraft were re titled ahead of the actual BA take over date so possible a 747 by then) and BOAC cheat line and BA tail until at least early 1981.

The 747's that wore full BOAC livery were all-136 G-AWNA-G-AWNM

There is nothing rare about BOAC 747's there were arround for quite some time, just that pics were not taken of everythng by everybody as they are now.

I found a series of 747 photos of 747s a while back on Airliners.net, first the full BOAC,then mixed liveries as BA liveries came in.

As for FS, the BOAC livery exists for the CLS 747, it's on Flightsim.com

yes, I know but I only know of those 4 being painted up for flightsim. No idea why but for some reason, AWNC seems to get painted more than the rest.. this being the sole CLS and POSKY repaint. It's not like there isn't material for the others We only have 4 136's on the VA hence why A, B, C and D are done.. all came from C

I think the G-AWNC thing is just because for some reason that seem to come up more than others on pics

Fear not matey.. I've just read my post again and it could be taken any number of ways so the error was mine You may be right about AWNC. If you're only going to paint one, I guess it doesn't matter which one but you know I like to fly wearing the correct livery/reg so I was stuck to flying NC until I got off my butt and did the others Needs must.. dammit!

For the clearification. As always, its a joy to witness this plethora of historic knowledge found in here!
So I will patiently wait till one day, when someone has painted a G-AWNA/D, preferably for the RFP. (If not a BOAC Comet 4C )

Maybe I should take paint classes myself? Is it difficult?
