I am having to buy a new Graphics Card. thinking of spending £200-£250. I prefer Nvidea. Opinions please.

The GTX 570 is a cracking card for around 250 quid.

Definately get Nvidea I would say especially if your sim of choice is FSX. I recently swapped out my NVidea for an ATI 6 series mainly because I wanted the eyefinity capacity with 3 monitors which Nv don't do (yet). The ATi is good but just not as seamless as NV in the setting up process, in fact it is a real pain. Also when it comes to advice and tweaks, the number of NV users easily outweighs ATi.

Just to let you know I have had a Nvidea 560GTX installed. So far so good.

Time will tell however on the dark side yesterday I got 100+ on the frame rate at one point and that was using REX. I have maxed everything out and will see what happens.

Hi Guys,

I was looking at this card too, but some of the figures for my 8800 GTX looked higher which worried me a bit...

The texture fill rate and the number of texture mapping units (also the memory bus width) all seem to be better on my old card. Can someone quantify this?

heers,

Ben.

The new card is expected to outperform the old one by 93.3% :-O That's some claim!! *-) I'd be a little cautious.. more than a little cautious :wasntme: Is that a gaming figure Ben or an overall one? While it may run the latest games like sh*t off a shovel, FSX is a bit of an odd one which, for some reason has always liked the 8800GT*. £250 is a lot of money to spend to end up disappointed :cpu:

Hi Dave,

Yep, a lot of dosh that I don't have at the moment. I'm just curious to find out if the figures I've mentioned are significant. :cpu:
