Help required.

Went to the pub last night 
leaving PC 
running. When I returned, all USB powered peripherals (Saitek X52 Pro, Keyboard, Mouse) were off and screen frozen, all fans still running and power light on but no activity from the hard drive light. Reset button only cleared the screen so pressed and held on/off button to shut PC down. Left it a couple of minutes then pressed ON button and I get fans and ligts for a split second then all goes off again. No POST beeps or anything. 
I'm of the mind that this could be expensive.... or hoping it's something simple and cheap.
