That's true. Our eagle-eyed gunners might have mistaken you for a Me-110, Ian.

Thanks for the concern, Dave, but no need to worry. A2A understand their market and have stopped short at modelling working armament, otherwise I'd only go near that Fortress at night - everybody knows they can only attack things in daylight!
It's a pity because the B-17 crew could do with a bit of a scare. They show no respect to a superior officer. I made a heavy landing on the left gear and there was a chorus of grunts and 'ow's and mutterings about checking the gear. It made me laugh out loud ... until the next time I flew it and the gear wouldn't retract
Only aggressive thing the B-17 does have, apart from it's looks, is droppable bombs. So I did a quick sortie over Slough (the most suitable target for friendly bombs) but sadly they evaporated before reaching the ground.

That made me laugh.. and I could do with a laugh having just suffered a little more 'weight loss' with the dentist then 'money loss' at the reception on my way out

We'd decided I'd take a course of antibiotics to get rid of an infection under one of my 4 remaining 'real' teeth on the top set then changed the plan and pulled it anyway. I now have a weeks course of antibiotics to take for an infection under a tooth I no longer have

When I go back in 6 weeks to be measured up for a new plate (I was hoping that would happen today).. she'll simply add another to fill tha gap
I digress.. that was about as interesting as toothache which I still have even though there's no tooth there. I'll sit here for a while and dribble my coffee (which I shouldn't be drinking) while enjoying a puff on the old pipe (which I shouldn't be smoking). If nothing else.. I can still be defiant

Ooooh. That does sound both painfully expensive and expensively painful AND the antibiotics that I get from
my dentist have the delightful side effects of wind, nausea and the you-know-whats. You're going to be even grumpier than usual for the next week
But it'll be worth it in the end

You always come up with a smilie for the right occassion
Yeh.. the first thing SWMBO said was 'oh no.. they're not gonna give you the tommies are they?' (she was actually more coarse than that). How rude (thought I)

This one hurt and I'm not used to that. I'd just reached my pain threshold when she said, sorry, sorry.. it's out now.

At that point, I came back off the ceiling.

Now.. I feel like a bag of sh1t but the ibuprofen I've added to the cocktail are starting to work. I hope they're long lasting as I don't have any more
Back on topic.. who's B17 is that in your shot? I have the old WOP model which was a belter (my fave from the set) and it drags over to FSX nicely. Not sure I'd want an Accusim version though. I only fly these things for fun and I don't consider the constant threat of explosion caused by my own ineptitude as fun
